What is Ganoderma Lucidum?

Ganoderma Lucidum, also known as Reishi or Lingzhi in Chinese culture, has long been used as part of traditional Asian medicine to promote wellness and vitality as well as strengthen immunity in humans.

Ganoderma lucidum, or Ganoderma, is one of the most commonly used mushrooms today. It's primarily used to stimulate the immune system, but it also boosts immunity due to its antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties. This mushroom has also been shown to stimulate human natural killing cells directly, thereby increasing the activity levels and stimulating these cells directly.

Ganoderma has also been shown to possess anti-depressant, analgesic, and antibacterial properties; used for treating hepatitis, bronchitis and other infectious diseases; it also acts as an immunomodulator which has been utilized in treating fibromyalgia patients.

Reishi is a basidiomycete mushroom that belongs to the Ganodermataceae group. Traditional Chinese Medicine has long used it to increase life expectancy and vitality. Reishi contains a number of bioactive components such as polysaccharides triterpenes proteins and polysaccharides with diverse biological activities. These include anti-inflammatory, diabetes treatment and immunomodulatory. Studies also indicate the possibility that Ganoderic Acid A may exert various biological activities including anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and diabetic treatments1.

Reishi is a key ingredient in many natural products sold worldwide, especially those made and distributed by Japan, China, and Korea. Used widely as traditional medicines as well as in skincare and food products; Reishi also features widely in supplements and dietary beverages in North America and elsewhere.

Reishi contains more than 100 oxygenated terpenes. It has been studied due to its ability boost immunity and stimulate the natural killer cell activity. Reishi has antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties, as well as wound healing. It also reduces oxidative damage in the liver. Reishi is also able to protect rats from radiation- and chemotherapy induced toxicity.

How is Ganoderma Lucidum cultivated?

Ganoderma lucidum, commonly referred to as "red reishi," is one of numerous species known as the "red reishi." This bracket fungus or shelf fungus has an attractive reddish color. It can reach up to 40 inches in length, width, and thickness. This adaptogenic fungus is cultivated to provide healing benefits. There are over 400 species in Ganoderma, a vast genus. Among them, applanatum and Lucidum are the most popular.

Ganoderma is a polypore basidiomycota fungus that has been grown for centuries in East Asian cultures. Its immune-boosting and health-strengthening properties have made it a popular choice. Reishi can reduce stress levels, extend longevity and increase sexual vigilance - among other benefits. This reishi blend combines the powders, extracts and capsules available.

The purpose of the study was to establish optimal parameters for G.lucidum growth using potato dextrose Agar (PDA), slants, and plates. Our results demonstrated that mycelial growth increased as incubation temperature rose until reaching 30degC whereupon it peaked and then declined over time.

Worldwide, medicinal mushrooms are valued for their positive effects on health. Ganoderma, also known as the king of medicinal mushroom, is a variety that has been highly valued for many years.

Reishi (in Chinese), is used to treat conditions such as hypertension, sleep disorders and other diseases. The fungus may contain active compounds such as triterpenes, polysaccharides and other polysaccharides that contribute to its medicinal properties.

Reishi mushroom grows best on hardwoods such as oak, beech, birch or alder trees. However, they can also grow wild along hedges and parkwaysides. Reishi has been used as medicine for over 4000 years as it is recognized for its health-strengthening, anti-inflammatory and immune-supportive qualities as well as being rich in minerals such as iron potassium and zinc.

Why is Ganoderma Lucidum a good thing?

Ganoderma Lucidum is widely recognized for its immune-enhancing and antioxidant properties, particularly its polysaccharide beta-glucans. Additionally, this powerful plant has shown to help protect against free-radicals.

As an adaptogen maca can be a powerful source for balance and support when you are under stress. This is due to its abundance in beta-glucans, which boost immunity while promoting circulation.

Reishi, also known by its Japanese names Rei-sheng and Reishi, is widely thought to possess antiinflammatory properties. It aids mental and physical endurance while relieving fatigue and depressive symptoms.

Ganoderma can help lower cholesterol due to its rich supply of polysaccharides that contain triterpenes.

G.lucidum extracts, both ethanolic (and water-soluble), contain many beneficial components. However due to the inability of ethanolic to separate triterpenes, and polysaccharides apart for maximum effectiveness.

Studies have shown G.lucidum can inhibit the differentiation of adipocytes, produce hypoglycaemic actions, and promote immune functions to increase resistance to disease. Reishi contains polysaccharides which have also shown efficacy in this regard.

Ganoderma lucidum is an exceptional mushroom because it grows in special conditions. The harvesting process can be a challenge: to get 1 kg from 1,000kg spores, you need to harvest 1,000kg! Furthermore, collecting the spores without breaking them requires special techniques. It is therefore one of most expensive supplements in the market. ORGANO has mastered this process, so that you can enjoy its incredible health benefits through our supplements.

What is a good way to take Ganodermalucidum?

We recommend water-soluble Ganoderma Lucidum extracts to maximize its benefits. Water-soluble extracts may be less concentrated, but they contain more beneficial compounds and magic mushroom tea set are easier to digest.

Our water-soluble Reishi Extract combines three components: spores (which support immune health), mycelium (which connects them together) and the lucidum-cap to create a powerful blend with unique health benefits. Each part has unique properties and health benefits: for example, spores are high in antioxidants that support immune health. Mycelium is a network of connected cells with antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties. Finally the Lucidum Cap contains powerful polysaccharides known to reduce inflammation.

Reishi mushroom can be used in a variety of ways. Some people add it directly to their cooking, while other people take capsules or powdered supplement containing it. It has been proven to help treat a variety of conditions, ranging from arthritis and cancer to high blood pressure and chronic fatigue syndrome.

Reishi has been shown to increase energy levels, lower cholesterol levels and protect the heart against damage. Studies also indicate its beneficial properties to relieve anxiety and depression symptoms. Reishi’s Polysaccharides may be immunostimulatory as they help to promote proliferation of splenic Mononuclear Cells, Natural Killer (NK) cells, and Dendritic Cells - thus providing multiple health benefits.

Organo Gold’s approach to mushroom culture is natural, resulting in more Ganodermaspores which are used for its Poudre des Spores Ganoderma. The mushrooms produced using plastic bags are rarer and is nespresso organic coffee therefore worth less. Our Ganoderma, which resemble fine rice flour, can be harvested only during their natural lifecycle and cannot reproduced by artificial means. This special spore powder is needed to produce just one kilogram of Reishi mushrooms for our Poudre de Spores Ganoderma!
